Walking Water

To go along with our unit on colors and color words we did a fun science experiment called, Walking Water.  This was so easy and the preschool students LOVED it!  We filled two jars with water, added some food coloring, then placed an empty jar between them.  Next you take a regular square of paper towel and cut it into four squares.  Take one of the paper towel pieces, fold it into a strip, and place one end in a jar of colored water and the other end into the empty jar.  The colored water creeps up the paper towel and then drips into the empty jar.  This only takes a minute or two to start.  Of course the colors mix and magically make a new color in the middle.  The kids had a lot of fun guessing what the middle colors were going to be and watching the colors drip in.  We love science at Miss Amy's ABC Preschool!

Back to School

School is back in session and we have had a fantastic start at Miss Amy's Preschool this year.  Of course we are learning about our ABC's!

"A" is for Apple

"B" is for Band-Aid

(the students loved putting these band-aids on the letter B).

We are also talking about colors and have had so much fun with lots of different games, activities, and art projects as we talk about all of the fun colors and color words.  Sponge painting leafs on this fall tree was one of the students favorite activities.
