Guess Whoooo Loves You?

We made these cute owls for our parents at our preschool Valentine's Day party.  It was perfect that we were studying the letter "O" for our ABC's this week.  Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Look what we made!

I can't believe we are more than half way through our preschool year.  It is amazing to see how much these kiddos have learned from the beginning of the year until now.  Here are some fun things we have learned at Miss Amy's ABC Preschool lately--

"N" is for Noodle Necklace.  We are more than half way through the ABC's!

We have FIVE senses.  By adding a little scented oil to a cotton ball we made these flowers really smell.  The kids LOVED it.

They also LOVED making these texture fingers and talking about TEXTURES...rough, smooth, bumpy, hard, and soft.

We love winter!

We have been talking about winter at Miss Amy's ABC Preschool this month, and made these fun snowmen.  Each child wrote their names out, one letter per circle.  I loved watching them build their snowmen names, putting the letters in order, and then drawing faces and snowflakes.  So creative!

Winter is also the best time for field trips!  Everyone in Miss Amy's class enjoyed bowling and bouncing at The Rush Funplex in Syracuse.  The folks at Rush put the bumpers up and had ball slides for each of the lanes we used. Some of these kiddos bowled over 100!  We also enjoyed some of their delicious pizza. It was a fun day.

Happy Holidays

We like to do art projects around the holidays at Miss Amy's ABC Preschool.  These are a couple that we have worked on so far.

I loved how these turkeys turned out.  You can
also make them with craft feathers, but I
loved the drawing that the kids did on the feathers.

In November we read "Where the Wild Things Are" and made crowns
to be kings and queens of the wild things at school. The kids LOVED it!

My favorite part about this craft was watching the kids decide how many presents to put under their tree.  They loved that part! In the past I've had beads and pom poms to glue on these trees, but this year we tried sticker jewels and foam stickers.  Much easier...and they turned out so cute!

Fall is fun!

We know how to have fun at Miss Amy's ABC Preschool!  Everyone dressed up for our Halloween Party.  We played fun games, made a skeleton craft, and even decorated delicious cookies to look like pumpkins.  A BIG thanks to all the parents that came to help with the party and to those that drove to Black Island Farms in Syracuse.

Slides at Black Island Farms...wahoo!

We have also been learning lots of things in
preschool this fall.  We talked about the fall
season and made these paper towel roll trees.
I love the smiley face tree!  SO CREATIVE!

A is for Apple....We talked about Johnny Appleseed.

B is for BLUE....we love to paint at preschool.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear...what do you see?
Children love this story by Eric Carle.  We used it with our unit on colors and color words.

Center Time...  We rotate centers and have different hands on activities at each station.  I love all those cute smiles.

Our Alphabet Tree

Miss Amy is busy, busy getting everything ready for preschool to start. This year we will have something new in our classroom to help us with our ABC's.  We will be adding a letter (capital and lower case) every day to Our Alphabet Tree!

Many Syracuse schools are starting within the next few days, but remember the first day for Miss Amy's ABC preschool is Tuesday, September 2nd.  I will be mailing welcome letters to the students this week so watch your mailbox.  Can't wait to see you all soon!

Counting Down!!!

Miss Amy is getting excited for school to start on September 2nd.  I can't believe there are only 31 days left to go.  I've been getting our classroom ready.  I hope you're getting excited too!

If you know anyone in the Syracuse area looking for a preschool opening, I do have a couple spots left.  Have a great day!
